Perhaps because...
First thing that came to her mind, “Slumbook ba ‘to?” But she really finds it amusing how a not so close acquaintance would take such an interest on your relationship. Maybe people close to the two of you had seen you together for such a long time that they are just used to it. Hindi na sila nagtatanong.
I know that you knew this already. But for that person who kept bugging her with the weird question about why is she that into you (huh? Is she that transparent?), let’s try to put some words around it.
Perhaps because….
...you are funny even when you don’t intend to be one. Your bloopers, your sablay na hirits, your out-of-this-world comments that make her goes, “ano raw?!”
...you are so vain that she has to check herself in the mirror more often than usual to make sure that she doesn’t look dugyot next to you.
...you always smell good that she can still sense your scent lingering in her clothes hours after you left. Was it perfume, cologne, sweat? Whatever, she loves it anyway.
...you can be barubal around her without the slightest hint of self-consciousness and hiya.
...you’re a living proof that chivalry is very much alive: you lead her thru the crowd, you open the door for her, you go to the danger side when crossing the street with her (believe me, she smiles every time you do this), and most importantly, you are also like that to any other lady friend of yours.
...you are “feeling” and mayabang rolled into one, and you are the only person she knows who can carry such attitudes with style and charms.
...you are so generous and helpful in a very discreet manner. Kung pwede mo lang pakainin ang lahat ng beggars sa lahat ng kalsadang madadaanan nyo, gagawin mo.
...you can be chismoso (hindi lang halata) that you can actually join Boy Abunda or Pia Guanio on the next episodes of The Buzz or on it’s channel 7 counterpart. But, you still manage to turn the table around so people will think that it is she who feeds you with unsolicited chismis.
...you help her in doing research, kasehodang may alam ka dun sa topic or wala, kesyo work-related or walang katuturan sa buhay, go ka pa rin sa pagre-research.
...you can be so madaldal that you once ended up talking over the phone until it’s time for the morning TV shows.
...you are really a true blue jologs, and you don’t mind being a little obvious about it.
...you don’t really care much, slight lang, about what other people think of you (“Hay naku, bahala siya sa buhay niya!”).
...you can be hot-tempered and masunget that your eyebrows would sometimes find themselves crossed in a funny sort-of way.
...you sometimes speak about life like you’re already 40, and whine about it like you’re just 10.
...you can sing the songs she likes, and had learned to like, that every time she would hear them again, she’s always reminded of you.
...you stick-up with her. No matter how tiring or boring the day could be, you don’t seem to mind.
...you can spend time just sitting beside her in comfortable silence and she’d walk away feeling like you just had the best conversation.
…you make her think about you all the time: when she’s busy, when she’s bored, when she’s tired, when she’s happy, when she’s lonely, when she’s mad, when she’s jealous (even without you knowing it), when she’s dreaming, when she’s crying, when she’s smiling, when she’s away, when she’s just beside you, when she’s staring at you, when she closes her eyes, when she’s alone or even when she’s with a happy crowd.
Actually, with you, there's some sort of irony with it. While everything and every time feels always the first time, you also make her feel like being with you is the most natural thing on earth. Now how'd you do that to her? Oh I have no idea.
